Mi Max 2 – Bigger than your power bank|Quick Look

Hey this is Sreehari from Mr phone and I apologize in advance for my sore throat So, Xiaomi India launched the Mi Max 2 in the country just a day ago and the mi max 2 stands as one of the very few phablets in a market that is slowly moving towards tinier bezels

The original me max was quite an impressive device with the big display and huge battery and the second generation also seems to be walking on similar lines, so shall we begin so we still have a six point four four inch full HD display however the colors look a lot more refined and there is a 25 be curved glass on top which screams premium well one of the bits that’s quite difficult to miss is the humungous size of the phone, there are big screen phones that many people can gradually adjust to but this one just doesn’t seem like It walks on a wafer thin line between phone and a tablet and can easily be the poster child for the category The aesthetics are really good design and we have a stealthy looking matte black color and a full metal body The huge size now brings us to the USP of the device and it’s a big fat 5300 mAh battery

Xiaomi sells power banks with smaller capacity It’s a big upgrade too from last year’s 4850 mAh but they managed to add this without any considerable thickness The battery capacity has increased by 450 mAh but the thickness has just gone from 75 to 76 millimeters which really speaks a lot about the engineering behind the smartphone

The keynote was filled with battery comparisons and while comparing to iPhones or galaxy flagship is a standard affair, I was fairly surprised that they had the audacity to compare it with legendery Nokia 3310 Suprisingly enough according to their test the Mi Max outperformed the 3310 in every single test and that too by a big margin That will have to wait and see how that turns out The battery is also equipped with Qualcomm Quick Charge 30 and parallel charging which makes sure that your device doesn’t heat up while plugged in

Xiaomi promised a 68% charge in one hour and from the looks of it that can easily get you through an entire day of heavy usage The rest of the specs include a Snapdragon 625, 4 gigs of RAM and 64gb onboard storage with support for hybrid slot The camera has also been upgraded to a flagship sensor from Sony it’s the IMX 368 which is the same sensor used in the Xiaomi Mi6 albeit with a different apertureIt definitely would be as good as the Mi 6 but it will shoot better photos than the redmi note 4 The device also supports dual speakers with the earpiece making up the first half and the bottom speakers completing the set

Thankfully we see a USB type-c port here and for Xiaomi purists we have an IR blaster happily chilling with the headphone jack on top It runs MIUI 8 built on top of android 711 and will be soon updated to MIUI 9 as soon as it comes outThe Mi Max 2 is definitely targeted towards the media consuming crowd and let’s see what we have here, A big bright vibrant display good quality audio, a very capable processor and a long satisfying battery life The Mi Max 2 will be sold in India for a price of rupees 16,999

So at this price the biggest competitor it has is the Moto G5 Plus but both these devices are pretty different in their target audience The moto G5 plus is targeted more towards the day to day user who loves a small form factor and near stock Android while Mi Max 2 – is for those who watch a lot of YouTube or movies on their phones or play games for long hours and hate to carry bulky power banks along So let me know in the comments if you want to see a detailed comparison so that’s it for this one Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel This is Sreehari from Mr Phone

Thank you so much for watching See you next time !
