Sony Smartphone Xperia XZ Premium come to the US

Of all the possible colors for best Sony smartphone, it seems like we have to wait for the longest for all companies to release their smartphones in a nice shade of red. We have seen it on the HTC U11’s glistening Solar Red colorway that drifts between crimson and gold, and very recently Samsung Galaxy S8 with the Burgundy Red color.

Now the Sony has jumped on the bright red bandwagon with the Sony Xperia XZ Premium model that is as same as Santa’s coat and fittingly come just in time for the winter season for Christmas. The striking color option, dubbed as Rosso by Sony, which is red in Italian for those wondering, it was previously exclusive in Japan, but it’s now available for US consumers via Amazon.com.

The latest Sony Xperia XZ Premium is currently on sale for the price of $599, comes unlocked and is compatible with GSM/LTE carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile. If the new red finish does not strike your fancy, you can always buy it in Luminous Chrome, Bronze Pink, or Deepsea Black.

Sony latest smartphone launched at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, the Xperia XZ Premium is certainly no dropping in the specs department. It has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, backed by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256 GB) and powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset.

It also has a quality camera suite. Its 19 MP Motion Eye main camera lets you capture a super slow motion video playback by recording it at 960 fps. In addition, it is one of the first handsets outside of the Google Pixel or Nexus ranges to enjoy the full Android 8.0 Oreo update.

On the other hand, it still follows the old stale design language we have seen from Sony handsets for quite some time. Sony Xperia XZ Premium price for US model is $599 on Amazon but it does not have a fingerprint scanner. That being said, it is still an impressive device and recent price drops have ruled out the biggest negative mark against this smartphone. It originally launched for a steep asking price of $799.
